I Know What You Did Last Summer filmed in Sydney, Australia, and Los Angeles, USA, embraced innovative sustainable practices to significantly reduce its environmental footprint during production.    Key initiatives included the use of 100% solar-powered trailers for the LA unit, cutting fuel consumption by decentralizing power at Base Camp. In Sydney, the production tapped into the city’s 100% renewable energy grid, powered by wind and solar farms, to meet energy demands while working on location. By leveraging grid-tie systems outside the stages, I Know What You Did Last Summer ensured that 50% of its Location Day energy needs were met with clean, renewable energy. The production also focused on material impacts - utilizing recycling and compost haulers to collect waste on Set, prioritizing donations to local organizations, and 100% FSC timber (Australia unit).
